December 3rd is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Celebrate by reading the Disability and Health in Utah Report (PDF) to become aware of the percent and characteristics of adults with disabilities in Utah (2015 data). Adults with disabilities are more likely to have arthritis (38%; 2017 data) compared to those without a disability (15%; 2017 data). Additionally, more than one-third of persons with disabilities report having “fair” or “poor” health. This is significantly more than the amount of persons without disabilities that report fair or poor health (approximately one-fifteenth).
In order to increase health promotion activities, the Utah Arthritis Program and our valuable partners support health education workshops for everyone! Let’s all help to raise awareness of the inclusive services we provide.
